Lucky_Devil and I joined a $22+2 (turbo) Matrix sng at FT tonight.

Good fun and a good result.
On table 1 we took out every player between us.

Lucky won outright with 52 points, I was 2nd with 51.
Cashed around $120? between us.

I think a little over $130...was a bit of craic...and turning off those avatars really helped with the disconnecting for no reason that plagued my 1st attempt at the matrices!  If it wasn't for the AJ losing to A8, we might both have cashed in all 4 games!

and I know it's only 2 games in, but 90% ain't a bad ROI%

I've been looking at these, but what do you think about the payout odds?  It seems a little lop-sided to me.  You get 20% of the prize pool split between the 4 games, and 20% split to the overall placings.  If you win all 4 games, you end up with 50% of the prize pool (same as if you'd played just a STT).  It seems it'd be easier to just win one rather than all 4...

A couple things, tho:

1) If you registered for 4 sit-n-gos at the exact same time, what are the odds you will get a seat with the same 8 opponents?  Virtually nil.  In the matrix you will be playing more hands against all of them, and will be able to get better reads on them quicker.  In addition, I'm sure there will also be a couple players who aren't good at multitabling, or at the very least can't do anything more than play mechanical poker with 4 tables up - this is very easy to exploit.

2) If you win all 4 tables, you are a Dominatrix (hehehe).  As a result, you win the entire prize pool (and not just 50%).

Aside from anything else, you're assuming you're going to win the games...there is a far reduced variance and the better players will win more frequently, ok maybe not as much, but isn't it better to be a winning player and reduce the downside possible losses?
