ok, I think it's a folder isn't it. There's a good case for folding preflop but I had reasons not to here.

It almost always a fold here. The only hands he may bet and we beat are QJ or QT but i think they are unlikely. Most of the time we are way behind and also what mars said about the dry side pot makes it more likely that we are way behind.

If he folds he will have 1200 behind with 50/100 blinds. Thats pllenty left to play with.

Not at all.  While you would need to win 1 out of 4 in a cash game in order to make this call +EV, the same does not hold true for tournaments and sit-n-gos.  This is because each chip does not hold cash value.  If you double up on the very first hand of a SnG, did you just guarantee yourself a double-up of your buy-in?  While it helps (and your EV for the sit-in-go has gone up), you are by no means guaranteed even a cash in the game.

A tool located on this page will show that if you double your chip stack, you do not actually double your EV - in a standard 9-man sit-n-go, you raise by 82.5%.
